Agility Team GB 2024 Try Out Qualification

The Agility Team GB Selection Process is designed to incorporate dogs and handlers that have reached a high level of performance at Kennel Club (KC) Premier and Championship shows during the previous 12 months. It is designed to be an “Open for All” selection, providing partnerships have achieved, or are close to reaching, a level that will enable them to be competitive at international events.

This document sets out the criteria to qualify for the Agility Team GB Try Outs commencing in February 2024.

The rules and regulations of the qualification and Try Out process, will be announced by 1st November

Eligibility for Try Outs 2024

To qualify through Kennel Club Agility shows in the qualifying period, dogs MUST compete in the equivalent Kennel Club height.  ALL dogs in ALL heights trying out for Agility Team GB must have obtained, the day before the process starts (OSC), an official FCI Championship measure or have received an Agility Team GB Height Classification from Agility Team GB.


All handlers should therefore aim to get their dogs classified in the summer of 2023.

Seniors

Achieve at least one of the following:

  • A top 30 placement in the 2023 Kennel Club Agility Stakes, Quarter-Final (Large/Intermediate) or Semi-Finalist (Medium/Small). The run must not be eliminated to be eligible to enter. 
  • 2024 Crufts Singles Finalist.
  • Championship Certificate (CC) or Reserve Championship Certificate (RCC) Winner April 1st 2023 to February 1st
  • 2023 Senior Team member who competed, or was a travelling reserve, at the 2023 EO or AWC.
  • 2023 Junior Team member who competed, or was a travelling reserve, at the 2023 JOAWC who is no longer eligible for JOAWC 2024 due to age. 
  • Open Showcase 2024 Results.
Juniors
  • 2006 or later date of birth
  • Young Kennel Club Member

Who has achieved at least one of the following:

  • Qualified for the Young Kennel Club Agility Dog of the Year Semi-Finalist 2024
  • 2023 Junior or Senior Team member who competed, or was a travelling reserve, at the 2023 JOAWC, EO or AWC.

Open showcase

This event is Open to all and allows any dogs in the UK the opportunity to win on to the 2024 Selection process.  Dogs that jump a different equivalent Kennel Club height to their FCI height category, are able to qualify for the Try Out process only through this event.

  • Open to ALL dogs who have not qualified through the above channels for the 2024 Try Out process.
  • Dogs must enter their correct FCI height category

Additional Information

The Agility Team GB Management reserve the right to invite additional dogs to enter the Senior Try Out Process or the Junior PSQ.
